Lu Bao (Spice Sachet)
Ingredients
- 1 Chinese cinnamon stick (you can substitute for a regular cinnamon stick)
- 4 star anise
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 piece of dried tangerine or orange peel
- 1 tablespoon of fennel seeds
- 1 tablespoon of cumin seeds
- 3 cloves
- 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon Sichuan peppercorns
- ½ teaspoon of white peppercorns
- sachet/bag and butcher’s twine
Directions
- 1. Heat a small skillet over low heat and place spices on the pan. Stir frequently and cook until fragrant.
- 2. Take off the heat and allow it to cool. Then, add to a sachet.
